Lewis F. Neville (Ph.D.): CEO and CTO

Dr. Lewis Neville, a founder of Lostam BioPharmaceuticals, is an experienced research scientist whose expertise covers various areas of biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology and pre-clinical models of infection.

From 2003-2008, Dr. Neville worked at senior scientist levels for different biopharmaceutical companies based in Israel and the USA.

From 1996-2003, Dr. Neville served as senior scientist at XTL Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, with emphasis on protein expression, antibody characterization, and viral and bacterial infectious diseases.

In 1992, Dr. Neville was appointed Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery, Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. In this position, Dr. Neville applied a number of molecular biological techniques to discover novel genes in inflammation, sepsis and lung injury. During this period, Dr. Neville received American Heart Association and NIH funding and served as a consultant for SmithKline Beecham (now GSK).

Dr. Neville obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Leeds, England in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Neurochemical Pharmacology from the University of Southampton, England in 1988. Prior to his faculty appointment in Philadelphia, Dr. Neville performed two post-doctoral periods, including one at the Dept of Biological Chemistry, Hebrew University of Jerusalem under the guidance of the internationally renowned cholinergic scientist Prof. Hermona Soreq.

Dr. Neville has published approximately 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and a number of patents.
